A new business has recently been set up in my local Cheshire area, delivering fresh fruit and vegetables directly to your door. Deliveroot.co.uk is run by Graham Jones, who is passionate about great ingredients and supporting local farmers. He set up deliveroot to bring seasonal, local produce to his surrounding area (he is based in Weaverham, Cheshire) and delivers pre-selected boxes (you can create your own too) to lots of very satisfied customers, of which I am one.
I have had 2 boxes so far from Graham and both have been extremely good quality and exceptional value. His pre-selected boxes are usually £18-£20 each. You can see his latest in the image below, based around Chinese New Year, with goodies such as Pak Choi, beansprouts, ginger, chillies, sesame oil and a homemade yellow bean sauce with which to combine to make your very own chow mein - result!
With each order I have received there has been no plastic wrappings just good old brown paper bags and I recycle the boxes back to him to re-use.
I particularly like the fact that Graham sources produce from as many local farmers as possible.
I hear he is looking at moving premises to somewhere more substantial .... go Graham!
