What could be better than waking up and realising you already have breakfast sorted because you prepared it the night before! How easy it that.
Overnight oats can be made with a variety of flavours and combinations, you just choose the flavours you like. Once you have the basic base recipe the rest is for you to tweak as you like.
I make enough for 2 pots usually (so double the quantities) as they keep quite happily for a few days in the fridge so you don't have them 2 days running if you don't want to. These are great for grabbing when you know you have an early start, a long journey ahead or will just be rushed for time, they are perfect for all these scenarios.
The Recipe Ingredients
1 cup of porridge oats
1/3 cup natural yoghurt
1/3 cup coconut or almond milk
2 tsp chia seeds
1 cap of vanilla extract
2 tsp cacao powder
fruit of your choice
(I have also used combinations of coconut, seeds, choc chips, peanut butter, banana, mandarin oranges, strawberries...... all work. just choose your favourite combination)
Method
Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together before adding the wet ingredients. Then give it a good mix together till all combined well.
Spoon into your jars in layers .... oats, fruit, oats, fruit... until you get to the top.
Pop on a lid and place in the fridge. Enjoy the next morning!
